Week 16: "Avocado"

Get ready for a growth spurt. In the next few weeks, your baby will double his weight and add inches to his length. Right now, he's about the size of an avocado: 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toenails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop. (http://www.babycenter.com/)

================================

Some of you may have wondered where my 16 week post was, since I'm a day late. Yesterday was a busy day and today our electricity was out all afternoon (which meant our internet was also out). Funny side note, today of all days I decided to make pot roast in a crock pot -- needless to say, we won't be eating until 9:30 tonight since we had no electricity for 3 hours today.

Anyway, even though it's a day late, here is my 16 week picture.

I couldn't really tell much of a difference between this week and last week. Although, the picture is at a slightly different angle. It's a little hard to get it exactly the same way each week -- especially when you're using books to prop up the camera.

Not much new this week -- I still have my good days and bad days, but I can certainly tell I'm starting to feel more like myself again. I have an appointment with the midwife tomorrow, so I'm hoping that will go well. Oh, as an update to my venting/ranting a couple posts back, I finally hung some pictures on the wall. It's a work in progress.

Enough for now, I will post tomorrow after my appointment.

Love you sweet Bebito!
