18 months (better late than never)

Believe it or not, 18 months have come and gone since Kaydence was born.  Well, just pretend its been 18 months for the sake of this post.  It has, in fact, been 19 months.  Yes, Kaydence is actually 19 months old already.  So hard to believe!  That said, I'm finally getting around to posting her 18 month photos and stats.  Better late than never, right?  For comparison sake, check out these posts from a year ago and you can see how much she has grown.

As we speak, she is sitting next to me coloring and she tries very hard to color in the lines (well, by "very hard," I mean she attempts to and then moves onto the next page -- hehe).  She is doing very well communicating and for the most part is a pretty compliant child.  She has her moments, as we all do, but we feel pretty blessed to have such a "guh-gur" (good girl as Kaydence would say) on our hands.  She is always amazing us with her understanding of things.  A few examples, Teirney had his friend over one night and was asking us what Kaydence was going to be for Halloween.  We told him a bee.  So immediately, Kaydence runs to her room pointing to her closet door where her bee costume was hanging.  I had no idea she understood what we were talking about.  Then, two days ago, I was getting all my things together for my first newborn shoot (photos to come in the future) and had my beanbag plopped in the hallway.  She started climbing on it and I said, "okay, lay like a baby."  And she did!  I said, "just a second, let me get my camera."  So with my camera in hand, I said "okay, lay like a baby again and I'll take a picture."  And this is what she gave me.

newborn prep

She did pretty good, didn't she?  She prepped me well. :-)

Then, today someone asked her what she was going to be for Halloween and she actually said "bee" without me prompting her.  I don't give her enough credit...she is a smart little cookie.  The other day, I even had her unload the silverware from the dishwasher and put them away in the drawer.  Such a big little helper she is.  I'm feeling a little sad that I haven't posted to my 365 blog in awhile.  I'm extremely behind.  Never fear, I'm still taking my daily photos.  Well, aside from a couple days that I missed completely because the day got away from me.  Maybe some Saturday I'll have to have a 365 marathon where I can get it all caught up.

Here are Kaydence's 18 month stats.  Weight: 19 lbs/11oz (less than 5%), Height 30 1/2 inches (25%), 45 1/2 cm for head circumference (25%).  As I write this, I'm deciding that I'll post her 18 month photos in a separate post altogether.  So you can look for that soon! :-)

What is this bean bag I see? Something you bought for the newborn shoot, or something you already had that would help. Great idea. I'll have to come up with something like this for my nephew. Love the extra hair she's starting to sprout, by the way!
